Instructions for Poster Presentations

The IJCAI-2005 Poster Session will be held on Tuesday, August 2, from 17:30 to 19:00.

Posters should be mounted by the presenters themselves on Tuesday, August 2, between 9:00 and 17:00, and they should be taken down by 15:30 on Friday, August 5.

The poster area will be partitioned into zones according to topics. Please look at http://www.aass.oru.se/~asaffio/posterlist.html to know the topic area of your poster. You should mount your poster in any board of your choice within the topic area of your poster.

Each poster will be mounted on a board 1 meter wide and 2 meters tall. It should be attached using velcro, this will be provided by the secretariat staff.

At least one author of the poster is expected to stand by the poster during the Poster Session, to present it to other delegates. In addition, posters will remain on display throughout the meeting. Presenters may wish to be beside their posters during some of the breaks for informal discussion with other delegates.

Posters should be A0 size vertical (841 mm wide x 1189 mm tall) in order to fit comfortably on the board. They should be made of paper or thin cardboard. Heavy board materials may be difficult to keep in position on the panel.

The layout of your poster is up to your taste, but here are a few general suggestions. Use a simple layout. Keep the amount of written text to a minimum by using keywords and phrases. Use clearly labelled graphs and diagrams: pictures convey meaning more readily than printed text. Make sure to put the authors' names and contact information on your poster.

You may want to put your photo on or beside your poster. This will allow delegates who have seen the poster when you are not there (e.g., during a break) to find you and discuss your work.

Please contact the IJCAI-05 Poster Chair at asaffio@aass.oru.se if you have any questions.
